RCI Future Proofing | SCADPRO x Royal Caribbean International | 7-Day Sprint | 2022

Rethinking the Future of Travel and Cruising

Sprint Methodology | Trend Research | Scenario Planning | Ideation | Strategic Foresight | Brand Implications | Storytelling

*Due to NDA restrictions, I am unable to showcase this project in its full capacity. However, I would love to connect and talk more about it!

Royal Caribbean International approached SCADpro, a collaborative design studio within the Savannah College of Art and design, to conduct a future-proofing sprint over seven days. Their ask was to help them understand ways to maintain a competitive advantage in the market and ensure relevance against potential changes. The goal of the sprint was to conduct a forecasting exercise and generate ideas for new innovative offerings.

My role was to identify relevant trends and develop reframed challenge questions that showcase the impact on the brand and help the team imagine future scenarios. I also assisted in crafting the strategic narrative, aligning research to solutions, and spearheaded the development of the final deliverable.

The Approach

Overview

The Outcome

Divided into the next 5, 10, and 15 years – we structured the outcome in a strategic and insightful narrative to deliver 28 total solutions relevant to RCI and rooted in safeguarding the brand against the impact of future disruptions. The solutions were accompanied by visual representations of how they might come to life – sparking discussions with the client around developing them or adding them to the product roadmap.
